Arab Parliament affirms its support for Sisi's efforts to preserve Arab national security

CAIRO - 20 January 2020: The Arab Parliament affirmed its full support for Egypt, and showed appreciation of the efforts made by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to maintain and enhance Arab national security.
 
The parliament also commended the Egyptian efforts to face the foreign interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries and protect their sovereignty.
 
This came during a meeting held by the Arab Parliament Office headed by Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al-Asoumi, president of the Arab Parliament, Tuesday, at the headquarters of the League of Arab States in Cairo, with the participation of deputies and heads of the permanent committees of the Arab Parliament.
 
Moreover, the Parliament Office discussed the outcomes of President Sisi's reception of the President of the Arab Parliament last Saturday.
The Parliament’s office expressed, in a statement, its sincere thanks and appreciation to President Sisi for this meeting and his support for the Arab Parliament.
 
On the other hand, the Arab Parliament Office approved the proposal submitted by the President of the Arab Parliament regarding the establishment of the "Arab Observatory for Human Rights."
 
The President of the Arab Parliament stated that the observatory aims to monitor and document the human rights situation in the Arab countries, and its position on the ratification of international and Arab conventions on human rights issues, as well as redrawing the sound image of Arab countries to respond to the allegations of politicized and erroneous reports issued by some authorities.
 
The Observatory will study the international reports issued by the United Nations and its agencies and bodies on the human rights situation in the Arab countries and suggest appropriate policies to deal with them.
