CAIRO – 17 January 2021: Chief of General Intelligence Abbas Kamel visited Sunday Palestine's Ramallah to deliver a message from President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The message consisted of Egypt's fixed stance on the necessity to reach a "fair solution" for the Palestinian Cause asserting the country's eagerness to intensify its efforts aimed at contributing to the success of the Palestinian electoral process.

On January 15, Abbas issued a decree indicating the dates of elections that will be held for the first time in 16 years in the Palestinian territory. Those of the Palestinian Legislative Council will be held on May 22 followed by presidential election on July 31.

President Mahmoud Abbas presented the latest developments of the Palestinian Cause expressing appreciation for Egyptian counterpart Sisi.

The Egyptian, Jordanian, and Palestinian chiefs of intelligence held a meeting to examine ways of pushing forward the peace process, and future steps to bring about reconciliation among Palestinian factions.

Jordan News Agency reported Sunday that President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will visit the Jordanian capital, Amman, on Monday upon the invitation of King Abdullah II.
