German Foreign Minister visits Egypt on Sunday for talks

CAIRO - 10 January 2020: German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will visit Cairo on Sunday evening for talks with his Egyptian, Jordanian and French counterparts.
 
 
According to a statement issued by the German embassy, the ministers are expected to focus on the peace process in the Middle East, noting that this is the fourth time that the ministers have met.
 
 
The statement indicated that recent meetings dealt with annexation plans that had been announced during the Israeli election campaign.
 
 
The statement clarified that Maas is expected to hold bilateral talks with Egypt's' Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
