In statements to MENA on Sunday, Qirsh said the ministry with all its affiliated bodies is working on putting into effect the ministerial decision regulating quality standards.

He added that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed that the state will bear the cost of getting dairy centers to obtain quality certification as this will open for them new vistas in local and foreign markets.

This will also help maintain high quality products, he said, referring to the state's keenness on promoting agricultural sector, especially developing irrigation systems.

He noted that Egypt is number one at the international level in exporting citrus crops and frozen strawberry and the third in exporting dried onion.

It is also number one in producing date, he said.

Egypt enjoys self-sufficiency of vegetables and fruits, he said, stressing keenness to boost exports as the Egyptian products are of high quality.
