Egyptian govt following with incident of killing expat in Saudi Arabia

CAIRO – 30 December 2020: Egyptian Minister of Manpower Mohamed Saafan is following up with the incident of killing an Egyptian expat based in Saudi Arabia and called Hany Abdel Tawab.

According to statement issued by the Ministry, Abdel Tawab was working as an English teacher in one of the privet schools in Sulayyil city in Saudi Arabia. He is 35 years old, based in the country along with a wife and two children.

The Initial results of the investigations revealed that one of the students argued with the teacher over his grades and at the end of the school day, he waited for him along with his older brother in the street where they fought with the teacher again, except that in that time, the 13-year-old student shoot his teacher with a gun.

Abdel Tawab was hospitalized; however, he shortly died due to the sever injury.

The boy and his older brother were arrested by Saudi authorities and the investigations are still on going.

The privet school manger pledged to give Abdel Tawab’s family all of his dues, including his last month’s salary and end-of-service bonus. He also pledged to pay the teacher's salaries for the rest of the current school year to his family as an appreciation gesture to his efforts.

The manger also will be paying the expanses of shipping Abdel Tawab’s body to his home town in Fayoum governorate in Egypt.
