CAIRO – 29 December 2020: The Egyptian Railway Authority (ERA) indicated in a statement Tuesday that the signaling systems all over Egypt are being modernized at a cost of LE46.8 billion.

 

Currently, ERA is developing the signaling systems of four lines out of 14. Those are Cairo/Benha/Alexandria at a cost of €103.4 million and LE452.1 million, and Beni Suef/Asyut at a cost of €66.6 million. The authority will start soon renovating those of Benha/Zagazig/Ismailiyah/Port Said lines and the branch line between Zagazig and Abou Kbir at €61 million, LE399.5 million, and CHF8.7 million.

 

Later on, upgrade works will be carried out for the signaling systems of Asyut/Sohag/Nagaa Hamady line at €86.5 million and LE846 million.
