EgyptAir to operate flights from KSA to Cairo

CAIRO – 28 December 2020: National flag carrier EgyptAir announced, Monday, operating number of flights from Saudi Arabia to Cairo as of Tuesday, December 29, in accordance with the new travel instructions announced by the Kingdom’s authorities.

EgyptAir called on Egyptians who wishes to return home to communicate with the company’s different branches and announced specialized phone numbers.

Saudi Arabia, decided, Monday extending the suspension of flights to and from the Kingdom due to the recent developments of Covid’s new strain.

On December 21, Flights to and from Saudi Arabia have been suspended for a week, subject to extension, according to an EgyptAir tweet.

“Per the instructions issued by the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation, all arriving and departing international flights [from Saudia Arabia] have been suspended as of Monday Dec. 21, 2020,” the tweet said.

Saudi Arabia announced last week that because of the reportedly new Covid strain, all flights will be suspended until more information is available about the strain. More instructions were also announced regarding people coming from Europe, such as obligatory quarantine and a Covid-19 swab test.
