CAIRO – 24 December 2020: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry made a phone call to his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday, discussing the ways of enhancing the bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields, said Egyptian Foreign Minister Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez in a statement.

Both ministers discussed the joint cooperation in facing common challenges, besides the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic, Hafez said.

They also exchanged the visions regarding regional and international issues of common interest, especially within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

In April 2020, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan praised Egypt’s support for Islamabad’s international initiative to provide debt relief for the developing countries to fight the outbreak of the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Pakistani Prime Minister also commended the Egyptian-Pakistani relations, said Egyptian presidential spokesperson Bassam Radi in a statement, noting that both leaders tackled the medical efforts of combating the COVID-19 outbreak.
