Madbouli showcased that many terrorist groups used social media to propagate their discourse stressing that Egypt has faced many threats and challenges, in which, social media played a major role. That has been epitomized in false information on water security, the Libyan civil war, and conflict over sources of energy Eastern the Mediterranean.

The prime minister asserted that those facts underline the crucial role of media in combating terrorism and extremism by promoting moderate thoughts and the value of co-existence.

The AMF is organized by Dubai Press Club, and held for one day under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
