Commander of the Egyptian Air Defense Force Major-General Mohamed Hegazy Abdel Mawgoud

CAIRO – 16 December 2020: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi issued a decree Wednesday appointing Major-General Mohamed Hegazy Abdel Mawgoud commander of the Egyptian Air Defense Force.

 

The president issued another decree appointing the former commander of the branch, Major-General Ali Fahmy, military consultant at the presidency.

 

Hegazy was born on November 11, 1963 and graduated from the Air Defense Academy in July 1986. He was the chief of staff of the Air Defense branch before getting promoted to his current position.

 

The major-general had received the Long-Term Service Medal, the 25th of January Revolution Medal, the First-Tier Military Duty Medal, the Excellent Service Medal, the June 30 medal, and the Air Defense's Golden Jubilee Medal.
