Egypt expresses appreciation for Kuwait’s efforts for a Qatari-Arab reconciliation

CAIRO – 8 December 2020: The Egyptian Foreign Ministry has expressed its appreciation for the Kuwaiti efforts to heal the “Arab rift” and settle the crisis between Qatar and four Arab countries, including Egypt.

In a Tuesday press conference by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Hafez, he said Egypt hopes these efforts culminate in a comprehensive resolution to the reasons of this crisis and guarantee the commitment to any agreements that may take place.

He added that Egypt prioritizes Arab solidarity, stability and security. 

For four years now, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Egypt have cut ties with Qatar over the latter's alleged support for terror groups.
