CAIRO – 7 December 2020: Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel al-Aaal stated that House of Representatives election does not require resignation of Cabinet.

 

He added that the government will provide an action plan to the newly-elected parliament. Abdel al-Aaal clarified that the president of the republic is responsible for appointing the cabinet.  

 

This came during his press statements after casting his vote Monday in the run-off phase of the second round of the election.

 

“Egypt's success in holding parliamentary elections is historic success amid challenges of the Corona virus, adding that “It is a message to many countries around the world that postponing the elections is unnecessary," he explained.
