CAIRO - 28 November 2020: Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli inspected Saturday the development work in some Old Cairo suburbs around Magra El-Oyoun Fence and Eyen Al Sera Lake.

He was accompanied by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem el Gazzar and Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal.

Madbouli followed up the latest progress on removing old buildings and clearing out demolition debris at the site of the development work, which is part of a greater project aimed at restoring the cultural identity of the Old Cairo and its history.

Meanwhile, Gazzar said that the project, which covers nearly 378,000 square meters, consists of 60 blocks built in the classical style, including 1,136 housing units.

The project also includes a service area, a parking lot, a heritage area housing a center for heritage crafts, exhibitions for craft products, an indoor theater accommodating 450 viewers and an open theater for 1,400 viewers, the minister added.

Briefing the premier on the latest progress in the development work around Eyen Al Sera Lake, which is being carried out on area of 265,000 square meters, Gazzar noted all restaurants, parks and other entertainment areas are expected to be completed by the end of this year.
