CAIRO- 27 November 2020: The Arab Ministerial Water Council called upon the Arab states to cooperate with the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) to make a digital database for the water resources in their countries.
 
In a virtual meeting of the 12th session of the Arab Ministerial Water Council to discuss the executive plan for strategic water security and sustainable development, the council welcomed a cooperative agreement between the ACSAD and the Middle East Water Experts Network on water security in the region.
 
It also called upon intensifying the course regarding this sector and continuing the study of climate change and water scarcity in the region, through cooperation with the Regional Initiative for the Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources and Socio-Economic Vulnerability in the Arab Region (RICCAR).
 
It was announced that China's Ningxia University reached an agreement with Egypt's National Research Center and Ain Shams University to participate in establishing an international lab for arid zones and environmental affairs in the Chinese autonomous region Ningxia.
