CAIRO – 15 November 2020: Regional Adviser of Antimicrobial Resistance and Infection Prevention and Control at World Health Organization Maha Talaat warned of the possible increasing rate of the coronavirus (Covid-19) infection in winter.

 

In a phone call with Extra News" on Friday, she said that people should be vigilant in the coming period, noting that physical distancing is one of the most important means of reducing the spread of the virus.

 

 According to the Health Ministry Friday, 224 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 110,319.

 

In a statement, the ministry said 12 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 6,429.

 

As many as 87 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 100,847 so far, the spokesman said.

 

The ministry announced Tuesday that it had reserved Pfizer anti-COVID-19 vaccine doses that will fulfill 20 percent of Egypt's needs.
