Egypt’s Sisi Congratulates President-Elect Joe Biden on US Election Win

CAIRO- 8 November 2020: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi extended his congratulations to the US President-elect Joe Biden after the US presidential election results are announced on Saturday, according to a statement from the Egyptian Presidency.

“On this occasion, the President affirmed the aspiration for cooperation and joint action to strengthen the strategic bilateral relations between Egypt and the United States, in the interest of the two friendly countries and peoples,” the statement read.

Democrat Biden and his vice President Kamala Harris were elected by the Americans, defeating the Donald Trump.

In his victory speech, Biden pledged to not to divide the Americans, but to unify.

“This is the time to heal in America,” he said.
