CAIRO – 2 November 2020: A 58-second footage of a road accident that took place in Giza’s Badrashin district Sunday have melted hearts, attracting angry comments on social media, over a microbus driver’s lameness. The driver of the microbus was arrested later Monday.

 

The accident, which left four people dead and 12 injured, occurred after a microbus driver could not control the speed of the vehicle as he was driving so fast at the time a small vehicle was crossing the road, and slowed down while a truck passes.

 

The surveillance cameras showed that when the small vehicle slowed down, the microbus hit it leaving a number of casualties, including children.

 

Families of the injured called the ambulance who headed to the accident site, and transferred them to the nearest hospitals. The crashed vehicles were lifted off the road.

 

One of the crashed vehicles was carrying a number of students who were on their way to Al-Azhar Institute, where they study.

 

Legal procedures into the incident were taken, and the prosecution started an investigation to stand on the causes of the incident.

 

Giza Governor mourned the victims of the accident, and instructed to provide all kinds of assistance, and to disburse urgent compensation to the injured and the families of the deceased.
