CAIRO - 27 October 2020: Australian Ambassador to Egypt Glenn Miles said he was thrilled to see 'The Furnace' movie, which was set up in Australia, and features the rising Egyptian young actor Ahmed Malek, screened during Gouna Film Festival in its fourth round, in statements to Egypt Today.
"The Furnace was a great success at Venice Film Festival, and I think that Gouna Film Festival is a perfect destination for its premier in the Arab World," Ambassador Miles added.

His Excellence further said, "I am thrilled to see this production by Screen Australia and Screenwest feature one of Egypt’s rising stars and great young actors, Ahmed Malek.

He further explained that "Egyptians may not know that a huge part of Australia’s landscape is desert too, which made Western Australia a good setup for the film."

"The film is very special because it features indigenous Australia, a culture that not many be familiar with, but is a fundamental part of who we are. I will attend the screening of “The Furnace” at the end of the week and give you a fresh review," he added.
