Egypt has provided all needed preparations and medical supplies to the newly-opened department through the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD).

Shaaban said that offering such aid comes within the framework of the Egyptian political leadership's directives to continue providing support to the brotherly African countries in their prioritized fields, topped by the healthcare domain.

Egypt has previously offered medical aid and supplies to the Democratic Republic of Congo several months ago to help it counter the Ebola virus epidemic and contain the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, the Congolese health minister expressed his country's deep appreciation for Egypt which he said is always keen to offer help to his country, particularly in the health sector which suffers severe shortage of supplies.
