Egyptian, Spanish FMs discuss bilateral ties, sign MoU on Saturday in Cairo

CAIRO – 16 October 2020: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will receive his Spanish counterpart Arancha Gonzalez Laya in the headquarters of Egyptian Foreign Ministry, downtown Cairo, on Saturday, according to a statement from the Egyptian ministry on Friday.
 
The meeting would tackle the bilateral ties and regional and international issues of mutual concern, besides signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Afterwards, a joint press conference would convene, the statement added.
 
The statement did not mention in which field the MOU would be signed.
 
On September 24, 2019, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with Spain Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on the sidelines of the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. During the meeting, both leaders have agreed on exchanging security information and intensify cooperation regarding countering terrorism and extremist ideologies.
