Shoukry discuss boosting bilateral ties with Dutch counterpart

CAIRO – 15 October 2020: Egypt’s Minster of Foreign affairs Sameh Shoukry discussed, Thursday with his Dutch counterpart Steve Block, ways to boost ties between the two countries.
 
During a phone call, the two ministers expressed their desire to elevate cooperation on the economic and trade levels and addressed means of accelerating a visit by Minister of Foreign Trade Cooperative Sigrid Kaag accompanied by a delegation of Dutch companies to look over investments’ opportunities in Egypt.
 
According to Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez, Shoukry said that Egypt is looking forward to be among the top travel destinations outside EU to Dutch tourism, amid the strict restrictions that the country has taken against Covid-19.
 
The two officials discussed regional issues of mutual interest including immigration and refugees files.
 
They also reviewed the latest in the Libyan crisis, as Shoukry asserted the necessity of a political settlement in addition to having a roadmap to ensure security, stability and peace in Libya.
 
Regarding the peace process, Shoukry reaffirmed Egypt's unchangeable stance that is supporting the legal rights of Palestinian people and their right to establishing their independent state, according to the two-state solution and relevant international accords.
