CAIRO - 12 October 2020: U.S. President Donald Trump's "recovery rate from Covid-19 would have been faster if he had been treated in Egypt," chairman of the Scientific Committee to the Combat coronavirus has said.

Dr. Hossam Hosny told Sada el-Balad T.V. Channel on Saturday that Egypt is one of the first countries to take strict preventive measures against Covid-19; hence the success Egypt lives today.

"We have controlled the virus but have not beaten it because there are still deaths resulting from it.

The possiblity of a second wave exists, but people "should only be careful and not panic... precautionary measures represent the lifeline for Egyptians because confrontation would only work with discipline," Hosny added.

Egyptian clinical trials to create a medicine for Covid-19 will conclude in November of December, he continued, encouraging people to take the seasonal influenza vaccine.
