CAIRO – 8 October 2020: Egypt will provide all forms of support to Mali during the coming period, said Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry over a phone call with his Malian counterpart, Zeini Moulaye, stated Egyptian Foreign Affairs Ministry, on Wednesday evening.
 
Egypt has provided training courses to countries in the Sahel region, as well as the Egyptian active participation in the United Nations peacekeeping mission there. 
 
Therefore, Egypt looks forward to continuing to provide support for Mali to overcome the current challenges it faces, especially, in fields of combating terrorism and confronting terrorist organizations, via the training courses.
 
Shoukry stressed that restoring the security situation in Mali is the way towards reaching the desired development and attracting investments.
 
Furthermore, Shoukry congratulates his Malian counterpart on taking office as Foreign Minister of Mali in the transitional government.
 
Shoukry appreciated the eternal historical ties binding the two countries, expressing that the formation of the transitional government, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Moctar Ouane, would contribute to achieving security, stability, and peace in Mali.
