KAFR EL SHEIKH, Sept 29 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Tuesday inspected a number of service and development projects in Kafr El Sheikh governorate including Egypt’s first artificial intelligence (AI) faculty.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghafar, Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawy, Minister of Health Hala Zayed, Minister of Housing Essam El Gazzar, Minister of Transport Kamel el Wazir, Minister of Agriculture El Sayyed El Quseir and Kafr El Sheikh Governor Gamal Noureldine accompanied the premier on the tour.
Madbouly asserted the importance of continuing the implementation of precautionary measures to counter the spread of coronavirus especially in work sites and projects currently underway in the governorate.
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar briefed the premier on models of robots produced at the artificial intelligence center including robots which play the role of a security element and identify the faces of persons as well as robots which can draw maps of their locations.
The minister noted that the establishment of the AI faculty in Kafr El Sheikh, which was approved in April 2019, was a big leap in the information technology field in Egypt.
He also said the foundation of AI college came in implementation Of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to employ technology in the service of the society, adding that applying the artificial intelligence for governance or for business enterprises driven by data science and analyzing the data is also a big necessity in the current age to face various challenges.
The AI faculty offers a bachelor’s degree in industrial sciences, and the duration of the study is four years.
