CAIRO – 28 September 2020: Acting Guide of Muslim Brotherhood Ibrahim Mounir who is residing in London revealed "huge divisions" are currently witnessed within the group.

Mounir, who was assigned to the position, after Supreme Guide Mahmoud Ezzat was recently captured by the police.

Mounir assured that the Brotherhood has been living a severe crisis since the June 30 Uprising that overthrew the terror-designated Brotherhood rule.

In his statements to pro-Brotherhood platforms, Mounir revealed that members affiliated with the group have carried weapons, claiming that incidents that included violence and explosions were not approved by the senior leaders of the group.

Mounir further described the arrest of the former supreme guide Ezzat as a “huge strike to the group that largely impacted it.”

“Mahmoud Hussein is the only leader remaining from the Guide bureau, that’s why he was assigned in the committee tasked with the group’s crises,” he added. The committee was recently formed to replace the Supreme Guide Bureau.

Endowment Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said that the terrorist Brotherhood group “knows nothing but demolition, and incitement to chaos… as [its members] lack all meanings of patriotism and humanity, and deviate from all teachings of religions.”
