CAIRO – 25 September 2020: Egyptian security forces managed to arrest a number of people who incited to block a main road in the capital, Cairo, local media reported, amid calls for anti-regime protests encouraged by pro-Muslim Brotherhood figures and media outside Egypt.

The alleged attempt to block the Otstrad road comes as Egypt has applied a law on reconciliation for building violations, urging violators to pay a fine to reconcile with the state and legalize their buildings.

Also, Qatari-owned Al Jazeera, known for attacking the current Egyptian leadership, published on Friday video footage showing people chant against President Abdel Fattah El Sisi; however, AFP reported that that video is an old one and dated back to 2013, adding that the sound of the video was inserted.

The fabricated video also went viral on pro-Muslim Brotherhood trolls’ accounts on social media platforms and their channels.

Meanwhile, the Coptic Orthodox Church in Giza denied the rumors that claimed any protests in Giza, saying that the report claiming that a protest started from Al-Ikhlas Church in Talbia district of Giza is groundless.
