CAIRO - 18 September 2020: Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa said that 72 new mosques, including 71 across Egypt's governorates and one in Tanzania's Dar Es-Salam city, will be opened on Friday as part of the Awqaf Ministry's plan to open 314 mosques in September and October.
In statements on Thursday, the awqaf minister said that one of the new mosques, which was established in Hurghada, will be inaugurated on Friday in the presence of Red Sea Governor Amr Hanafi.
He noted that the Awqaf Ministry is planning to open 74 mosques on September 25, most of which were funded by the ministry, while others were constructed by individuals under the ministry's supervision.
