7 criminals killed in fire exchanging with police forces in Aswan

CAIRO – 2 September 2020: Egypt’s security forces killed, Wednesday seven criminals in two separate raids in Aswan Governorate according to Ministry of interior.

The defendants were involved in number of illegal activities including drug, weapons trafficking, murder and robbery.

It was added in official statements that most of the criminals were wanted pending other cases which they were sentenced to penalties in it.

The first raid targeted four of the high-profile criminals, who were known in Aswan to be involved in weapons and drugs trafficking. The defendants tried to escape as the forces approached their hideout and exchanged fire with police forces; however, the attempt lead to their death.

Four automatic rifles, large quantities of ammunition and drugs were found in their car.

The second raid targeted a group of another criminal elements who also exchanged fire with the forces.

Three of the criminals were dead, meanwhile, one officer was injured after being hit with bullets in the right arm and the left leg.

Three automatic rifles, large number of bullets and a quantity of different tybes of drugs were found in their hideout.

All legal measures have been taken and to be presented to the Public Prosecution, according to the statement.
