The compiled waste included various cooking pots and a toilet base were dumped and found on the sea floor, which harm the marine environment and disrupt the balance of underwater life.

This came as part of a cleanup campaign at the seabed in June, which lasted for eight days in three cities, including: Hurghada, Safaga and Marsa Alam. The waste extracted weighed 40 tons.

Several campaigns were organized by the Chamber of Diving and Water sports in a number of diving in Sharm el-Sheikh, Dahab and Taba, to celebrate the International Day of the Oceans on the eighth of June.

These efforts resulted in lifting 300 sacks of waste to protect the marine environment, enhance awareness to preserve the Red Sea, and maintain it as a distinguished global tourist destination.

The chamber was keen to implement the campaigns in accordance with the heath and preventive requirements set by limiting the number of participants to abide by safety measures.
