Iraq's PM greets Egypt’s Sisi on Eid al-Adha

CAIRO – 31 July 2020: Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al Kadhimi greeted President Abdel Fattah el Sisi on the occasion of Eid al-Adha during a Friday phone call.

According to Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady the Iraqi premier wished Egypt permanent progress and prosperity, the spokesman added.

For his part, Sisi thanked Al Kadhimi for his nice gesture, wishing Iraq progress and prosperity.

Earlier Friday Sisi extended his best wishes to the Egyptians, congratulating them on Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).

On his official Facebook account, president Sisi said “It is my great pleasure to offer my congratulations to the Egyptians, the Arabs, and the Islamic nation on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Adha. May Allah bring the blessings of it [the feats] to Egypt, Arab and Muslim nations.”

Eid al-Adha, or the Grand Feast for the Muslims all over the world, is one of the two most important Islamic holidays. It lasts for four days and honors the willingness of Prophet Abraham to sacrifice his first-born son, Ismail, as an act of submission to God’s command.
