CAIRO – 22 July 2020: Egyptian Religious Endowments Minister Mohamed Mokhtar has commended efforts by the country’s Armed Forces in fighting terrorism and foiling a recent attack North Sinai.

Two terrorists were killed in a fire exchange with security forces on June 30 in North Sinai as they were observing security concentrations within an attack plot, as announced by the Ministry of Interior.

The minister further added that “such coward operations will only get our brave armed forces and Egyptian people stronger against evil forces.”

The elements fired at the forces using machine guns when they tried to arrest them while riding in a car. They also possessed five magazines, ammunition, and a CZ pistol that was stolen from a policeman, after he had been killed in a terror attack on August 9, 2017 in North Sinai's Beir Al-Abd town.
