CAIRO - 3 July 2020: Egypt strongly condemned the continuation of Turkish violations in Iraq, affirming its rejection towards the Turkish approach, which undermines the peace and stability process, said the Egyptian Ministry in a statement on Friday.

“Repetition of these aggressive practices shows the reality that Turkey intends to impose on everyone, and proves why Egypt has repeatedly labeled Turkey as a major source of instability in the region,” the statement read.

Egypt affirmed its full solidarity with Iraqi people and government in facing these provocative practices, the statement added.

Egypt “calls on all parties to truly respect the Iraqi sovereignty,” the statement said.

On Friday, Turkey launched airstrikes against different targets in Kurdistan region, northern Iraq, reported Shafaq News Agency.

On June 17, Turkey and Iran launched air and ground operations against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) sites along the border of northern Iraq; Egypt strongly condemned the recent Turkish and Iranian military interventions in northern Iraq, calling for the respect for the sovereignty of the states.
