CAIRO – 29 June 2020: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi inaugurated on Monday tens of roads and bridges eastern Cairo connecting Misr Al Gadida neighborhood with 10th of Ramadan City, Cairo-Isamiliyah Road, Shorouk City, New Cairo City, and Downtown with the aim of resolving the heavy traffic problem.

President Sisi urged the introduction of smart traffic systems sending alerts to drivers to slow their speed and inform them about violations once committed.

The president named key road eastern Cairo after Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed al-Assar.

Nile Sash bestowed upon military production minister as per presidential decree

CAIRO - 26 June 2020: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued a presidential degree to bestow the Nile Sash on Minister of Military Production Major General Mohamed Al-Assar and promote him to honorary lieutenant general. The Nile Sash ranks third after the Order of the Nile and the Order of the Republic.




Explaining how road projects may be cumbersome for the government, the president gave a case in point saying that in order to build an axis road in Giza, the costs of compensations reimbursed to citizens whose houses will be demolished given that the buildings are clustered together will amount to LE7-8 billion.

“I urge the elimination of all encroachments [on public properties]… All violations [of construction terms] must be eliminated,” President Sisi stressed.

"20,000 projects worth LE4.5 trillion have been accomplished since 2014 in addition to 2,800 projects worth LE1.1 trillion executed by the Armed Forces," Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authority Commander Ihab al-Far stated.

The president inaugurated earlier Sphinx Airport located on Cairo-Alex Road and the New Administrative Capital airport via video-conference. That is in addition to Baron Palace after renovation.

CAIRO - 29 June 2020: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi inaugurated on June 29, 2020 Sphinx Airport located on Cairo-Alex Road and the New Administrative Capital airport via video-conference. Each of those airports spans over 4,000 square meters, and has two terminals as well as dozens of office buildings, Minister of Civil Aviation stated.
