CAIRO, June 16 (MENA) - The Egyptian mission to the United Nations in New York, in cooperation with the British mission, on Tuesday launched an initiative for setting up a group of friends of acclimatization.

A statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry indicated that the initiative is part of Egyptian efforts for fighting climate change within an international and multilateral framework.

It is also part of Egyptian diplomatic efforts for enhancing international action in the various fields including the challenges of climate change, added the statement.

Head of the UN Egyptian mission Ambassador Mohamed Iddriss said that Egypt will continue its international efforts for serving the interests of developing countries especially the African States for enabling them to confront the effects of natural disasters resulting from climate change.
