PM visits wastewater treatment plant serving 9M Egyptians after upgrade

CAIRO – 13 June 2020: Prime Minister Mostafa Madouli visited on Saturday Abou Rawash Wastewater Treatment Plant, which has been recently expanded and upgraded.

The plant serves 9 million citizens as its capacity has been enlarged by 400,000 cubic meters per day to become 1.6 million cubic meters daily. The renovation works cost LE7 billion, including the upgrade to advanced treatment systems.

The visit to the plant – considered one of the largest in the country - followed 2 others to the factories of SE Writing Systems and Uniliver Mashreq within a tour in a number of factories in 6th of October City.

The prime minister has been carrying out a series of tours in industrial establishments since the outbreak of COVID-19 upon the instructions of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi. The aim is holding dialogue with investors in order to provide continuous and support to the sector.
