CAIRO - 11 June 2020: The Arab League (AL) urged for maintaining Arab support for the Palestinian educational process and alleviating the suffering of Palestinian students.

AL Assistant Secretary General Said Abu Ali made the remarks during a virtual meeting of the committee for educational programs in occupied Arab lands.

He said the committee is keen on following up the educational process in the Palestinian territories, especially under the coronavirus crisis.

The talks also tackled Israel’s manipulation of the current crisis to accelerate its settlement activities, he said, referring to the annexation of vast swathes of lands in the occupied West Bank and Jordan Valley.

He also cited Israel’s aggression against the Palestinians and challenging the international community and international resolutions.

He noted that education in the Palestinian terrotories is facing many challenges and the situation is worse under the coronavirus.

He underlined that the committee works to confront the Israeli attempts to devastate the educational process in the Palestinian territories.
