Egypt’s Embassy in Baghdad operates 2 exceptional flights home on June 15

CAIRO – 10 June 2020: Egypt’s Embassy in Baghdad announced Wednesday that two EgyptAir flights are going to be operated to return stranded Egyptians back home on June 15, adding that the ticket prices will be $320

The quarantine procedures that will be applied to the returnees were amended, according to the embassy’s statement. It was explained that a rapid test detection of antibodies will be carried out upon arrival at the airport; if the results were negative, the returnees will sign a declaration of isolation at home for 14 days and they go straight to their homes with registration in the follow-up program of the Ministry of Health.

In case the tests come in positive, other tests will be taken, and the Ministry of Health will take whatever measures necessary in accordance with the medical protocols applied in this regard.

The embassy stated that the reservation for the two flights opened on June 8 for citizens who previously registered at the embassy and consulate in Baghdad, EgyptAir office in Baghdad, EgyptAir office in Terminal 3 of Cairo International Airport, or via Egypt Air hotline. The embassy pointed out that the places on the two planes are limited.

Regarding the violators of the residency law in Iraq, the embassy said that they must first book the flight ticket and then go in person to the Egyptian consulate in Baghdad with their original passport and ticket, along with 100,000 Iraqi dinars as a fine for the law violation.

Kuwait Civil Aviation Administration announced, Wednesday, June 10 in a statement that a total of 4,108 stranded Egyptians left for Cairo, Sohag, and Alexandria on 21 flights.

The Kuwaiti administration said 14 direct flights transported 3,079 local passengers to Cairo, in addition to six flights carrying 899 passengers to Sohag, and one flight carrying 130 passengers to Alexandria.

“The flights are typically operated by Egyptair, FlyEgypt, AirCairo, Kuwaiti Airways and Jazeera Airways,” added the official statement.
