KHARTOUM, June 8 (MENA) - Sudanese Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Yasser Abbas invited on Monday his Egyptian and Ethiopian counterparts; Mohamed Abdel Ati and Seleshi Bekele respectively, to continue talks on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) online on Tuesday.

In a statement on Monday, the Sudanese ministry said the meeting will build on previous negotiations on the Ethiopia dam.

During previous negotiations which extended from 2013 until 2020, the three states reached an agreement concerning most issues on the negotiations table. Only few issues are still unsettled.

Three monitors from the US, South Africa and the EU will take part in the meeting.

The meeting is set to discuss procedural issues related to the role of monitors and the remaining issues under discussion.
