CAIRO – 24 May 2020: Police forces were deployed on main streets and around vital facilities on Sunday, which marks the first day of Eid al-Fitr.

A security alert is witnessed in most streets and police forces maintain the closure of beaches, public gardens, and parks to prevent any gatherings as part of precautionary measures to prevent Coronavirus spread.

The Ministry of Interior affirmed the continuation of efforts to provide a safe environment for citizens, and called upon them to abide by the decisions of the cabinet regarding the curfew hours.

The water bodies police launched enlarged campaigns to stop operating Nile boats for six days as of Sunday, while the supply police directed campaigns to control prices and pursue anonymous goods.

The vicinity of important and vital installations witnessed a police proliferation to maintain measures.

All train and metro lines will be halted as of Sunday and until Friday, in implementation to cabinet decisions in a bid to combat COVID-19 pandemic.
