CAIRO – 21 May 2020: Minister of Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Atti announced he will self-isolate at home for two weeks after he held a meeting with the Daqahlia governor who tested positive to coronavirus.

"Minister Abdel Atti and all the other people who contacted Governor Ayman Hamza have undergone a coronavirus test," stated spokesperson for Ministry of Irrigation Mohamed el-Sebaei.


On Tuesday, Minister of Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Ati, said he was doing well after meeting Daqahlia Governor Ayman Mokhtar who tested positive for the Coronavirus on Monday.

"All anti-COVID 19 precautionary health measures were taken at this meeting such as social distancing, the disinfection of the office, testing the attendees and wearing face masks and gloves," he added in a statement on Tuesday.

He wished the governor a speedy recovery and called on all Egyptians to exercise extreme caution to fight the virus.

The two met on Monday to discuss cooperation between the ministry and Daqahlia Governorate in the irrigation field.

The minister of irrigation issued a decision that workers or visitors should not enter the building of the Ministry of Irrigation or its affiliated facilities without a face mask, in light of the measures taken by the state to limit the spread of the new coronavirus.
