RAMALLAH - 15 May 2020: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) reiterated Friday its staunch support to the Palestinian cause and the absolute right of the Palestinians to establish their independent state.

Marking the 72nd anniversary of the Nakba (Catastrophe), which has seen the Palestinians oppressed and expelled from their homes, their properties expropriated and their legitimate rights denied, "OIC General Secretariat reaffirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause for the OIC, reiterating its firm and full support to the Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to restore their national and inalienable rights," it said in a statement posted on its website.

OIC also called on the international community to continue to support the Palestinians to regain their national rights, most notably the right of return to homeland within the two-state solution, and the right to have their own independent state, with Al-Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital, as established in the Arab peace initiative and relevant UN resolutions.
