Cabinet denies disposing of waste of sugar factory in the Nile

CAIRO - 15 May 2020: The cabinet media center denied on Friday videos circulated on social media about disposing of the waste of Nagaa Hammadi Sugar Factory in the Nile River.

In a report, the center said it contacted Environment Ministry, which described these videos as baseless.

The ministry noted it sends a specialized team periodically to inspect the Nile to ensure that there is no waste disposed of by the industrial complexes, especially the sugar factories.

The ministry urged various media outlets and social media users to verify their reports before publishing them and contact the ministries concerned
