CAIRO – 4 May 2020: Minister of Defense and Military Production Mohamed Zaki attended on Monday the line-up of Thunderbolt Forces to determine the level of their combat proficiency and readiness to accomplish missions.



The general commander of the Egyptian Armed Forces was accompanied by Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid and a number of high-ranking commanders, the video report posted on the military spokesperson Facebook page indicated.

Commander of Thunderbolt Forces affirmed that the elements work with great willpower and determination to secure the homeland's properties, and that they always deploy efforts to upgrade their capabilities. The commander stressed that the forces take all protective measures required against COVID-19.

The minister listened to the topographic and tactical guidance given to the forces, and the measures taken to upgrade their combat readiness. Later on, he delivered to the Thunderbolt Forces the greetings of Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi on the occasion of the 38th anniversary of 10th of Ramadan Day marking the victory of 6th of October War in 1973.

Minister Zaki pointed out that the Thunderbolt Forces are one of the strong arms on which the Egyptian Armed Forces depend on. The minister also highlighted that the Egyptian Army still accomplishes missions on all strategic fronts of the country in parallel to supporting the state's efforts in the face of COVID-19, and contributing in the integrated development plan along with other state institutions.

The general commander checked in the end the forces and the equipment as well as protective products manufactured by the army's factories to control the spread of coronavirus.
