RAMALLAH 1 May 2020: Secretary of the Palestine Liberation Organization Executive Committee Saeb Erekat has welcomed a joint message delivered by the European countries to Israel to warn it against the annexation of any parts of the West Bank, WAFA news agency reported Friday.

This important message sent jointly by the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, Holland, Ireland and the European Union (EU), warned Israel that this step represents a blatant violation to the international law and will have grave consequences on the security in the region and affect Israeli international standing, Erekat said.

The Palestinian leadership proceeds with its international diplomatic contacts at all arenas and levels to prevent Israel from implementing its plan to annex Palestinian territories, he added.

On Thursday, ambassadors of nine European countries along with the EU have delivered a message to warn Israel from the move during a video conference with an official at the Israeli Foreign Ministry
