CAIRO/ MANAMA, April 27 (MENA) – A group of 157 Bahraini citizens and students returned home today to the Kingdom from Egypt, BNA reported Monday.

The repatriation of the stranded nationals is part of the precautionary measures being undertaken by the Kingdom of Bahrain due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had issued royal directives to provide all support to Bahraini citizens wishing to come back home, in coordination with the Foreign Ministry.

Bahrain’s Ambassador-Designate to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Hisham bin Mohammed Al-Jowder followed up on the procedures at the Cairo International Airport to ensure the citizens’ return.

He commended the Egyptian authorities’ cooperation to facilitate departure of the Bahraini nationals to return home.

He said that the embassy had received support from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other various competent authorities, praising the efforts of all embassy employees to facilitate the procedures for the return of the citizens.
