CAIRO, April 14 (MENA) - Local Development Minister Mahmoud Shaarawi on Tuesday said that around 1,236 encroachments on state-owned lands that stretch on an area of 192 square meters were removed in several campaigns launched across the nation over the past 24 hours.

This new figure of encroachments takes the total number of recovered plots to 2.1 million square meters, the minister added upon receiving a report from the ministry's central operations room in this regard.

The minister urged all bodies concerned in different governorates to firmly deal with all construction violations and encroachments on state-owned lands throughout the day and take immediate legal procedures against violators.
