MINYA, Egypt - 10 April 2020: The Minya health directorate imposed home quarantine measures on four families in the Upper Egyptian governorate as part of preventive steps to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In a statement, Minya Governor Osama el-Qadi said the quarantine measures were taken after a citizen coming from Turkey has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The citizen is a resident of Bertbat village in the governorate.

He added that tests of members of the citizen’s family turned out to be positive, so they were home quarantined.

The governor urged the village residents to stay home and abide by the instructions of the health directorate until the quarantine period is over.
