CAIRO, April 8 (MENA) – Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawi said Wednesday that the governorates, in cooperation with security forces, succeeded in removing 3,022 encroachments on state-owned lands according to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives.

Shaarawi praised the efforts of the governors to enforce the rule of law and prohibit any encroachments on state lands, saying some citizens took advantage of the state's preoccupation of fighting coronavirus and laid their hands on state lands.

He said President Sisi and Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli are following up this important file.

The minister urged all the governors to step up campaigns to demolish buildings set up illegally on the state-owned lands.
