CAIRO – 20 March 2020: The Coptic Orthodox Church has informed all parishes and churches in Egypt to adhere to the government’s decisions to suspend all activities including crowds in a bid to prevent the spread of the deadly Covid-19.

The decision, issued by Bishop Dimitrios on Wednesday, includes the closure of occasion venues as well as events and services halls.

Egyptian churches have responded to the government’s instructions to ban gatherings by suspending Sunday schools and church’s education services.

The churches took steps like holding mass services every day to avoid crowds on holidays and occasions, while making sure the attendees’ temperatures are normal.
