Red Sea halts domestic tourism, quarantines workers for 14 days

CAIRO - 17 March 2020: Governor of the Red Sea issued a decree on Tuesday to halt domestic tourism for 14 days starting the departure date of the last foreign tourist.

The decree also includes quarantining workers in the tourism industry for 14 days as a pre-emptive measure against Coronavirus spread.

The employees will remain in the hotels, resorts, sites, bazars, and restaurants where they work.

During the aviation suspension set to take place on March 19-31, all touristic establishments in the country will be sanitized. As for the Red Sea governorate, sterilization will also be carried out in governmental and non-governmental institutions.

CAIRO - 17 March 2020: CEO of EgyptAir Roshdy Zakaria indicated Tuesday the measures taken to handle the aviation suspension announced by the Cabinet on March 16 to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
